She dresses and looks this way because she has always dreamed of being in the movie business,living in Salinas at only at the age of 15 she wrote to a man in the movie business but had no reply,Her dreams of staring in her own movie were smashed into a million pieces.Now when she is older and wiser she still has no ambitions. Then she married Curly.Now married to Curly she is always lonely,this is because she is away from her family and friends,shes ignored by Curly (when he is around!) because he is always in town or in whore houses,on the ranch there is nothing for her to do except sit around doing nothing.This is why she tries to make friends with the people on the ranch because she is lonely,but the ranch workers think she is trying to get them into trouble with curly,and because she hasn’t got over her trauma of being rejected by the movie business she wants to live out the fame and dream of being a movie star in front of the ranch workers.the ranch workers are too scared to have any business with her because if they do they know that curly would give them the beating of there lives. Later in the story lennie is the only person who she manages to have a proper conversation with,at first lennie tells curly’s wife that George told him to stay away from her because she will get him into trouble and that she is bad news,but she manages to make it slip Lennies mind by asking him questions about things he likes like soft things,furry things,rabbits,etc and he is easily led into them conversations because they are all his favourite things he mostly likes. When she asks him if he likes petting and touching soft things he got very excited,then she asked him if he wanted to touch her soft golden hair,he reply’s yes.When he is petting her soft locks of hair he starts to get more and more of a grip of her it,she tells him that is enough he blocks her voice out of his head and continues to have a firm grip,she tries to struggle away from him with no success,then when she screams Lennie got scared because he knew she would get him into trouble so with his bear like hands he covers her mouth but she still managed to shout for help so Lennie done the only thing he knew he would do to shut her up for good!,and breaks her neck like a twig.

The strong interest in nature, the humble life the preference for the country over city, and the focus on the first persons are all features of Romantic poetry found in this poem. â€Å"Expostulation and Reply† is written in the first person and in simple language. The poem seems conversational in style, making it more appealing to the reader. Even though the story is argumentative in wording, the tone is not angry or even serious. It is rather relaxed. This is probably due to the fact that we should approach it with an open mind and without bias. This poem incorporatesWordsmith's thought that nature was the ultimate teacher. As William was pondering on a stone, Matthew asked him, â€Å"Where are your books? That light bequeathed to beings else forlorn and blind. † Matthew was wanting to know why he was wasting time, when he could be studying books. Matthew stressed the point that books were left by our ancestors for our learning. Matthew goes on to say, † You loo k round on your mother earth, as if she for no purpose bore you;† Clearly, Matthew is misinterpreting the situation. William is looking at mother earth with a purpose to learn.He finds that you can learn better by observing nature than reading another's thoughts on the subject. William is not accepting somebody else's word of knowledge, but he's discovering his own knowledge. I think of William as a symbol of individual thinking (a pioneer), and Matthew as a symbol of society's restriction because he chooses to restrain his knowledge to words on paper. Next, William replies to Matthew. William makes the point that there are things we see that we should pay close attention to because there might be some spirit trying to communicate. In this case, nature is communicating.William says, â€Å"That nothing of itself will come, but we must still be seeking? † When nature is ready to teach us, then we better be listening already. Really I think that in the poem, there is a sen se that nature is constantly teaching. It's Just that we aren't hearing things. Actually, we are hearing things but choosing to ignore the words. After all, Nature did give us ears to listen with, but it is our choice not to listen. Maybe we all have choices, and it's by listening to the details that we make the right choice. I also want to mention Wordsmith's other poem, â€Å"The Tables Turned. Unlike this poem where one person says pick up a book to learn, the speaker says put down your book to learn. The poem says, â€Å"Let Nature be your teacher. † It later goes on to say, â€Å"—-We murder to dissect. † I think that meaner that when men get curious about something, we destroy its natural beauty Just to learn about it. â€Å"The Tables Turned† helped answer questions posed by â€Å"Expostulation and Reply† in Wordsmith's own thoughts and views. When you add the vivid language of â€Å"The Tables Turned,† it ally gives a more colorful, vivid sense of nature and what it has to offer.There's a lot of sensory perception described in the poem. The poem goes on to describe nature as something pure and innocent. I think that's why Matthew didn't understand Williams action; he wasn't in touch with the innocence of nature anymore. Modern society has taken over and left its mark on the culture. Maybe William knew that modern life would overrun nature, and he would learn all that he could before it was gone. After all, no good thing can last forever. These poems reveal a lot about humanity, even though the subject was nature.Human will can drive us to excel in certain aspects. Orange was stuck in a paper based timewarp. This meant that all time and energy was put into manual applications which did not leave time for them to focus on a more customer friendly and customer focused organization. The new system meant that there was a huge reduction in the need for large volumes of clerical staff and these staff could be utilized to provide a better customer service and also provide a better profit for the business by utilizing the customer information to enable cross sales. It also enabled time for the marketing strategy to be overhauled as up to date data was now at hand. This data provided a customer profile facilitating the sale of more relevant products by providing some Golden Nuggets of information. As the systems could provide some analytical and operational CRM data. Country Risk Assessment on Japanese Imports of Drugs History Japan, being the world’s most dynamically competitive nation, is facing an ironic balance in trade with the U.S. The Japanese economy relies too heavily on exports, especially to the U.S., causing increasing trade surpluses. They have been in a repetitive cycle for the last 25 years in which the government allows the yen to fall against the dollar to boost exports and restrict domestic growth to dampen imports. The Japanese government has set too many trade restrictions on U.S. imports, trying to compete against and keep out American imports. This all began during the postwar period when Japan imposed heavy import barriers. Virtually all products were subject to government quotas, many faced high tariffs, and the Ministry of International and Trade Industry (MITI) had authority over the allocation of foreign exchange that companies needed to pay for any import. These policies were justified at the time by the weakened position of the Japanese industry and the country’s chronic trade deficits. By the late 1950’s, however, they had regained balance and could not justify their payment system. Despite Japan's rather good record on tariffs and quotas, it continued to be the target of complaints and pressure from its trading partners during the 1980s. These complaints revolved around non-tariff barriers other than quotas, which included standards, testing procedures, government procurement, and other policies that were be used to restrain imports. Import Policies In 1984 the United States government initiated intensive talks with Japan on four product areas: forest products, telecommunications equipment and services, electronics, and pharmaceuticals and medical equipment. The Market Oriented Sector Selective (MOSS) talks were aimed at routing out all overt and informal barriers to imports in these areas. The negotiations lasted throughout 1985 and achieved modest success. Supporting the view that Japanese markets remained difficult to penetrate, statistics showed that the level of manufactured imports in Japan as a share of the gross national product was still far below the level in other developed countries during the 1980s. Frustration with the modest results of the MOSS process and similar factors led to provisions in the United States Trade Act of 1988 aimed at Japan. Typically, a carnival masquerade is celebrated as a joyous and social liberation from the masses of mundane daily activities, but in â€Å"The Cask of Amontillado,† by Edgar Allan Poe, the protagonist Montresor creates a different meaning to the festival for his so-called friend Fortunato. Edgar Allen Poe uses an inventive writing style which sets up a situation in the beginning of the story. He intrigues the reader in the first line of the story, â€Å"...but when he ventured upon insult I vowed revenge† (Poe Page 1). Poe uses this stylistic writing by providing subtle pieces of information and imagery to draw the reader in, anticipating the rest of what is to come of Montresor's plan for revenge. In a seemingly harmless exchange of words between men, time begins to draw to an end for Fortunato whose naivety and trust in Montressor earns grim fate as some would believe to be his destiny. Montresor, through his pride, became an angry individual and had felt that Fortun ato had caused him â€Å"a thousand injuries† (Poe 1). Overshadowed by his delirious thoughts, Montresor’s deep hatred for Fortunato can be perceived as no more than envy or jealousy. Fortunato, a very wealthy man, dabbled into hobbies, such as being an avid wine connoisseur. Along with that Fortunato is part of a high society by being a member of masons. By that, Montresor felt Fortunato’s status and ability to purchase anything he desired, specifically wine, degraded his own status , ultimately causing Montresor to become displeased, disrespected, and unloved. Therefore, forcing Montresor to believe that Fortunato needs to be repressed to protect himself from these insults. In this story, I will argue that through the usage of different types of irony, Montresor did not think of... ...akes Montresor the one preforming masonry while Fortunato is actually the one belonging to the Masons. Overall, the story â€Å"The Cask of Amontillado,† displays a cleverly set usage of ironies to depict Fortunato’s death. As verbal, dramatic, and situational ironies were used, it can be said that not everyone may be who you think they are. Fortunato who thought Montresor was a dear friend, later betrayed his trust and soon after killed him. Poe makes the story more interesting and comprehensive as it sets certain emotions within the audience to sympathize with Fortunato for desire of the Amontillado, and the complete trust in his friend.
